eGFR (Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate) measures how well kidneys filter blood. Calculated using the CKD-EPI 2021 race-free equation from Serum Creatinine.
eGFR above 90 mL/min/1.73m² is normal. Values between 60-89 indicate mild reduction, 30-59 moderate CKD, and below 15 indicates kidney failure.
Seek urgent nephrology evaluation if eGFR drops below 45 or if you experience facial swelling, foaming urine, or sudden oliguria (reduced urine output).
